Hi Thomas! We are serving on the patio Tuesday through Sunday evenings with reservations available starting at 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Curbside pick-up is available each day as well!
We have the same brunch menu from 10 AM to 2 PM Tuesday through Sunday each week. We take reservations for parties of 8 or more people; walk-ins for smaller parties.
Definitely kid friendly, including the restrooms.
First time here, a small hidden gem. Great service, friendly cooks (I sat at the bar), prompt service, and food that’s got me writing a 5 star review. So to say the least, I’ll be back. I had the Heuvos Rancheros, a classic, and they nailed it. Try their selection of Pastries, super good.
Never a disappointing experience. Always attentive service and great food. One of our favorite brunch spots in the cities!
The most charming little restaurant right off the lake. They offer a great wine list, yummy food (esp brunch) and friendly service. Also, we really appreciate the outdoor, pup friendly seating options.
Joel DeBilzan is an amazing chef. We had shrimp, steak, burger, lamb and dessert. Everything was delicious
Had an absolutely incredible dinner tonight! Our dinner event began with wonderful creamy flavorful cheeses, advanced to incredible salads, delicious entrees paired beautifully with wines and ended with scrumptious desserts!Thank you to Don and your team! And Thank you to Anna for the special dessert to cap the birthday celebration!Going to Don’s Kenwood is like returning to a comfortable friend who knows how to intrigue your palate with delights well beyond the evening.
It exists. They offer food.
Food and service was excellent! Highly recommend. We had a Lamb appetizer. For our main courses we had steak with potatoes and brussel sprouts. The best prepared fish I have ever had. For dessert we had bread pudding with caramel sauce and coffee ice cream. It was all wonderful. The service couldn't have been better!
The Kenwood has great cuisine. The emphasis is on the quality of the food and blending flavors in a unique way. Wait staff are very good and understated. Gave me two free desserts for my birthday for a party of four.
The first time we ate here was in Feb of 2019. We were disappointed with both food and lack of service (male waiter who does not speak). I did not leave a review at that time because the other reviews were so good, I thought we just had a rare bad experience. Ate breakfast there again today and service was way better (female). Food tasted good but now I am home, in bed, sick as a dog. My stomach is killing me and other unpleasantness is happening. I just can’t recommend and I won’t go back.
Everything about this place is awesome. Food and Portion sizes are on point, staff and servers are extremely friendly, environment is awesome, restrooms are clean, parking is convenient and food is awesome.
This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. The food is amazing and it's in a beautiful neighborhood. The atmosphere is comfortable and homey, yet also very classy at the same time. They also frequently add new dishes to the menu, while keeping customer favorites. The staff are all attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Highly recommended.
Hand to god, one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis. I’m a big fan of the Pancakes with Black Walnut Butter. It would be hard to find a stack of cakes this good located west of the Mississippi. But if you don’t want to feel weighed down, the Heuvos Rancheros is my next recommendation. It tastes fantastic, and has the added benefit of making your Instagram feed pop with some color. Breakfast is one of the best times to go in, especially during the week to best weekend rushes. Stop in, grab a coffee, catch up on some news, and indulge in great food.
I have only been for breakfast, and have really enjoyed both the food and atmosphere (and it's right next door to Louise Erdrich's book shop and a stone's throw from Lake of the Isles, so you could easily make a half-day excursion out of it). The menu is short and simple, and also not cheap. $30 for breakfast for one? Ouch. But if you've got it, more power to you.
We ordered eggs benedict, and the simple breakfast of eggs, sausage, and rosemary potatoes. Pancake on the side also, which is a must have with the black walnut butter. Mimosas went great with the meal, they have the option of orange or grapefruit juice. Great atmosphere. Menu has a creatively paired selection of dishes. Somethings may be a little pricey, but definitely worth it. I'll definitely be returning and would recommend.
Always stellar bread and circuses at The Kenwood. Treat yourself and sit solo at the bar and watch the kitchen show. Great work, crew! Service is always friendly and elegant as well. My favorite!
Cozy spot near Lake of the Isles. Expertly prepared food (we ate breakfast) with simple a la carte menu and wonderful flavors. Affordable. Our family enjoyed it very much!
The early breakfast was very good but our menu was shortened. This wouldn't normally be a problem but the waiter was ignorant of the fact that the larger brunch menu would be served only 15 minutes later. The omelette was was pretty good and the atmosphere is excellent. I'd recommend it.
Some of the best food I have had recently!
I've heard really good things about The Kenwood and they definitely hold up. It feels classy and hipster, the perfect mix. Everything we had was delicious, which was most of the brunch menu. If you decide to try it for yourself go as early as possible, they don't do reservations for small parties.
Beautiful place with delicious food, wonderful staff, and very fair prices for the quality of the food. I went for brunch and was very impressed!
Located in a beautiful neighborhood, a close walk to Lake of the Isles. Very nice place to sit, plenty of windows. Outdoor seating in the summer. Great staff. Burger, eggs Florentine, beer selection, coffee and beet salad all excellent. Long wait on a Sunday morning, 30-40 min
Amazing food, a must try place. Get here after 10 for the brunch menu
Going for the first time I liked it a lot. Everything from the atmosphere to the staff was on point. The food was well proportioned, flavor was well balanced and had great mouth feel (hope I'm using that term correctly). I will certainly be going back
This place was great. Love the ambiance and the food was fantastic. Will not disappoint!
Cozy spot anytime. Thoughtful, Delicious & Fun food. The burger with the pork belly & fried egg is my favorite for lunch. Smoked salmon was the breakfast of choice - coffee cake was tasty & even the hot chocolate was a perfect temp for our 7 year old. Excellent service & food. Thank you!
Great local neighborhood restaurant! Love the outside space! Always fun choices! The fish was excellent tonight! Cheese plate had wonderful choices too. A favorite of ours for many years now!
Came here on a weekday for breakfast after a yoga class. It's near Lake of the Isles and has free off street parking available. Looked fancy inside and there were people in business suits, but we were in yoga clothes and it was just fine! They serve local Dogwood coffee for $3 with free refills. The breakfast menu isn't huge, but the options are delicious. There is sort of an a la carte section so I chose the 2 eggs, rosemary potatoes, and pancake with black walnut butter. I would recommend each thing I got! I wish I could make scrambled eggs even half as good as they make theirs, the potatoes were crispy and full of seasonings, and the pancake with black walnut butter was incredible. Everything including the coffee came to about ~ $17.50 plus tip. Service was great as well. Great place to go on a snowy morning or a stop on a walk around Lake of the Isles. Will have to come back for brunch on the weekend! FYI breakfast starts at 8am and they are closed Mondays so plan accordingly.
Is this neighborhood spot the perfect blend of coziness and classiness? Is the bookstore next door the best possible way to stay entertained while waiting for a table during weekend brunch waits? Is the Kenwood burger the best in Minneapolis and St. Paul? You must go to find out for yourself. With gruyere cheese melted and a runny egg perched atop the beef and pork belly on a picturesque golden brioche bun, this burger rocketed to the top of my favorites in the Twin Cities—so savory, so rich, so filling but not overwhelming. And those thick-cut salty fries. And the huevos rancheros and butternut biscuit with mushroom sage gravy and the fluffy pancake with black walnut butter. Yes and amen.
Very very nice place to eat. Simple menu but very well done. Food was fantastic. Service excellent. Open kitchen so you can see what's going on. A little hidden gem.
The food and drinks were great on the brunch menu, and the prices were reasonable for what you got. The fried rice was delicious. Service was fast and friendly once we were seated, but we didn't have a reservation (not sure if they even take them since we didn't look) so we waited for 40 minutes over mimosas. It's not tiny, but it's not huge either, so during busy times especially expect something of a wait.
In a wolrd where every restaurant has a stylish atmosphere and fancy sounding menu but only serves mediocre food this place actually delivers! I've not been so impressed by an eggs bene in quite some time. The food is both creative and quality like you will rarely find.
Very pleasant dining atmosphere. Our dishes were tasty with attractive presentation. Must admit we were a bit disappointed with server. Never asked if wanted more coffee or tea.
Oh my gosh! If I could give 6 stars I would! I just had one of the BEST burgers I've ever had! My co-worker got the burger with the fried egg on it and he said the same thing! Delicious fresh food! We work over in Hopkins and have wanted to get over to The Kenwood for quite some time! Highly recommend!
Food was amazing. Like, truly amazing. Staff was very timely, friendly, and helpful. Answered all our questions about the food and the little lady filling glasses was right on filling them up. A little more on the expensive side, but definitely worth the money. Will definitely be coming back. Also great desserts, and drink menu. Would be great for a nice night out or a special occasion.
I can't believe it took me this long to try this place. I seriously think I had the best omelet of my life and I am super picky about eggs. It was done perfectly! Nice cappuccino too. Great staff. We'll be back.
Seems petty to complain about extreme butter laden scrambled eggs. They were awful almost chiffon consistency. Couldn't eat them. In the restaurants defense the gingerbread was very good . Will not be going back.
Delicious food, wonderful service, cozy atmosphere.
Had the burrata with peach and peppers. Pretty great lots of non spicy peppers and a pile of cheese. Could have used one more piece of bread but otherwise I was very happy. My wife had omelette (with ham) with breakfast potatoes. The eggs were beautifully fluffy, tomatoes were a nice surprise, and the ham was delicious. Both dishes were even better when they paired together. Great food and quiet patio for weekday brunch.
Nice cozy neighborhood restaurant. We both ordered the pulled pork and it was very flavorful with a big side greens salad. Definitely order the beef pudding for desert and ask for an extra scoop of the coffee ice cream. Nate was our server and he was friendly and professional.
One of the crown jewels of the Twin Cities food scene
My favorite neighborhood haunt. The people are what put this place over the top. Whether you sit in the dining room, the patio, or the kitchen counter (my favorite) you will have a lovely time. Enjoy.
I love love love this restaurant. Don is amazing. The food is consistently great, the staff well trained, beautiful space/location. When I miss my old marylebone neighbor I come here and feel at home. Perfect omelettes and lovely dairy-free soups (that chilled pea soup...so good) and the picked mustard seeds over a beet carpaccio and the huevos rancheros. I really wish my daily allergy didn't prevent me from trying the pancakes with black walnut butter my children get. Don't hesitate to go here.
Awesome brunch place! Smoked steelhead trout hash with poached eggs and horseradish-mustard sauce was beyond delicious! Really, so good. If you’re here, go for it because it is available only this fall. Staff was friendly and the service was quick! Definitely recommend The Kenwood!
There are few places that offer the sheer level of quality and creativity that you consistently get fron Don Saunders at The Kenwood. Always great service with welcoming faces. A can't miss destination.
Don, his pastry chef and two of his staff came into our home to prepare and serve appetizers and a five course wine paring dinner for a party of 20. Don and I talked prior to the party to decide what we wanted to do, but were open to any suggestions. He sent me a preliminary menu for approval. He nailed it. Him and his staff brought cookware, dinnerware, glassware and utinsils, since I didn't have enough for that size of group. The food, wine and service was amazing. The appetizers were delicious and unique. The small plate courses with the wine were incredible. I can't say enough great things about the meal and experience. Don and his team took care of everything, so that my wife and I could relax and enjoy time with our guests. Everyone had unforgettable evening. When they left, my kitchen was as clean or cleaner then when they came. It was an amazing experience and worth every penny.
Really good food. Really good atmosphere. Really good service. What more do you want?
We've only been to The Kenwood for breakfast, and were delighted to get introduced to their dinner menu. The mushroom soup was amazing: thick, tasty, rich but not overpowering. What a treat! I devoured the pasta and lamb dish, while my sister loved the sopa noodles and tofu.
We live in the neighborhood and Don Saunders is the nicest guy, so we're happy to support this local spot. The plaid wallpaper and cozy feel are perfect for a cold winter day. I only wish the menu was a little more varied.
We love the Kenwood Restaurant! It has the right combination of delightful atmosphere that allows for good conversation and quiet intimacy without being too pretentious. The food is rock star quality for the price, I especially recommend the delightful Kenwood burger and the unmatched bread pudding it dessert. Brunch on the weekend is also really really good. I feel like this is an underrated Gem of the city.
In spite of Father's day crowds, the staff managed to keep the wait times down. Wonderful breakfast. We plan to return.
